My MozBlog

Hixie has a good post on how IE6 has stalled the web. The project IE7 is working to help catch things up. By including some files in your website, you can make IE have more DOM and CSS2 support. I won't pretend to understand most of the stuff it talks about, but I think the idea is fantastic. Leave it to Open Source to clean up Microsoft's mistakes.

I stumbled across a thread on MozillaZine that says that the Windows installer is now packed with a self-extracting 7Zip. People keep talking about how great it is at compression, but one of the reasons it was avoided in the past is that it was not cross platform. As Firefox moves towards 1.0, I hope to see even more optimizations.

I find the new extension and theme manager a bit confusing. Perhaps it is just buggy and most of the extensions that I use haven't been updated yet.
