Call Me Al

My MozBlog

In case you haven't noticed, Wolf has been making quite a bit of progress on the UMO beta. There are, however, about 60 extensions that we need to test before they can be uploaded. We could really appreciate some help with this list. Yes, we really do test themes and extensions before they appear on update.mozilla.org. That doesn't mean we use them extensively. But we install, fiddle around a bit, and uninstall. It gets to be time-consuming and we quickly get behind. We're hoping people will go through that list and add a comment whether it works or not (with UserAgent). Once the new UMO goes live, we'll be looking for regular testers (aka Editors) to do this officially as part of the Editor team. We have 337 GUIDs listed in the database. Since we support the principle of release early, release often, you can see that we can get overwhelmed, especially when a new release comes out.

Why does testing these extensions block releasing a new version of umo?
