Apparently, Asa's blog didn't validate. Which of course made me wonder if mine did. URL's that appear via a form GET posting are not properly escaped, at least not for the xhtml parser. I had some unescaped html, too. Here are some html escape codes and URL escape codes that you can use.
Unforutunately, the parser doesn't recognize that the html created by my archives javascript is valid. It only sees the script tags themselves. From now on, I'll use a validating bookmarklet (if I can ever get it to work) and well-formedness bookmarklet, thanks to Jesse Ruderman's blog.
