Call Me Al

My MozBlog

It has been quite a while since I've touched Mozilla-related code. On the one hand, I've seen Firefox and Mozilla Addons become a lot more mature. It is mostly past the stages where I can jump in, change a few lines, and feel like I've accomplished something. I'm not saying they don't need help, just that I'm not able to be very productive.

The other issue is my own life. I used to have a lot more free time. Now work keeps me occupied 9-12 hours a day and when I get home I just want to relax when I walk in the door.

Even though I started out as a developer in my job, over the years I've become much more of a business analyst. I've lost interest in learning to program in new languages. I've been forgetting a lot of what I learned in the past. That's what happens when 1) you have a terrible memory and 2) you don't use it.

I'm not completely out of the Mozilla scene. I still follow along most of the open AMO bugs.
